When the Blog Goes Quiet — Goal Tracking

Posted November 4, 2015 by Amanda Shofner in Goal Tracking / 2 Comments

goal trackingHello, lovelies!

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

Despite my absence from this blog, I haven’t stopped writing—or blogging.

Writing progress for the last couple months.

Let’s talk progress, shall we? Here’s what my tracking spreadsheets reveal about my writing numbers lately.

September:

September Word Count

October:

October Word Count

My October counts come purely from my 3o minute writing sprints in the morning, which I’ve started to tweet out. (If you’re not following me on Twitter @amshofner yet, you should be.) So yes, that’s 21k just from writing 30 minutes every weekday morning. It’s put me at the halfway point of my WIP, Redemption.

What November has in store.

I’m a little insane. Just a little. I decided I wanted to participate in NaNoWriMo (add me as a buddy!), and so despite writing content for work (and we’re in the middle of a site redesign, so it’s not like I’m twiddling my thumbs—never that), I’m barreling forward with writing.

I also started a new project, which may or may not go anywhere, but why not? It’s an urban fantasy serialized fiction, and at this point, I’ve written about 2,000 words on it. I make no promises. It’s not named, it doesn’t have a book page on my site yet. It may just be a fun project.

I’m also moving at the end of the month, and this will affect my writing abilities. I might melt into an exhausted pool of brain mush by the end of November, but dammit, I’m going to try to win NaNoWriMo.

Where you can find me blogging.

While you won’t find me here blogging, you can find me blogging over at Mill City Press! I’ve got awesome posts for you, including how to promote your book on Goodreads, when you can call yourself a bestseller, and how to use blogging to market your book.

I’ll also be updating everyone on my NaNoWriMo progress at Mill City Press, and the best way to keep track of me there is to like MCP’s Facebook page or follow us on Twitter @MillCityPress!

And hopefully, it won’t be so long before my next post here! 😉
